Ashcroft Flying Club's Annual Fly In

Organized by Ken Hoshowski
Photos by Dave Dickinson

The day started with us meeting at the Petro Canada
Truck Stop  on the west end of Kamloops.
The weather was over cast but was not raining.

Dick Parkes 1938 McLaughlin - Buick & Ken Hoshowski's 1961 Pontiac

Joy Parkes, Marg Hoshowski & Marlene Beddie enjoy a laugh with Chic Buck
as we wait for everyone to arrive.

Ken Hoshowski hands out directions to
John Folley and Craig Beddie on how to get the
airport at Cache Creek

They allowed us to park by the hangers as with the weather being over cast like it was they did not get as many planes flying in as they had expected..
Dick can be seen driving on the air strip.

Dick and Ken wonder if they could trade their Vintage Car in on
the plane as they understood it was for sale

Mayor of Ashcroft Andy Anderson is the owner of this one.

Local Lion's Club had a pancake breakfast.
(Some members did not think it was as good as we have at our Easter Parade)

Marlene Beddie, Marg Hoshowski and Noella Dickinson
enjoying a badly needed warm cup of coffee

1960's? Yak

Vetern airshow pilot and performer John Mrazek along with his Harvard Mark IV, "Pussycat II" will dazzle audiences, spectators, or anyone watching with a spectacular aerial ballat. With lots of noise, smoke, and skill John's aerobatic performance will bring the entire airshow crowd to a stand still.

I beleive Dick had been out visiting one of the Tourist Rooms

Carolyn as she is about to leave Logan Lake heading for Kamloops

How she actually left. It turns out that her new carb system was not allowing her car to run so it was  going back to the mechanic that had installed it last week. As it was a new installation our crew did not want to start working on it so her warranty would not cover it.
The tour ended with lunch.
It was up to you now on how you wanted go home.
I know Carolyn had not planed her trip the way it turn out.

The day was over cast for most of it with some rain on the way back to Kamloops. The rain did not dampen a great day.
Thanks Ken for organizing a fun day.
